Man arrested after multiple people assaulted during Charlottesville church service

The police arrested a man after interrupting a service in Charlottesville and began to attack the church owners.

The incident took place on July 27 at the Saint Paul’s Memorial Church on 1701 University Boulevard.

A press release responded to an ongoing attack report during a service in the church after a man stood up at 9:45 and began to attack more than one member of the congregation.

There was no serious injury during the incident.

Participants restricted the man until the police arrived. Release was detained without further incidents.

Phillip Salkowe, who is not an age or address listed, was accused of seven numbers of misdemeanor attack and battery.

Charlottesville Police Department Chief Michael Kochis said, “We are grateful for the brave actions of the communities that quickly intervened to prevent more serious injuries,” Charlottesville said.
