Man arrested and another in hospital after stabbing | UK | News

One person was arrested following the stabbing incident that caused serious injuries. The incident occurred near a family centre, and police said the shocking incident had sparked concern in the local community for those living nearby.
The stabbing took place in Atworth Close, Swindon, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday, December 3. Police were called to the scene near the North Swindon Family Center in Penhill.
The 39-year-old man was injured with a knife and was taken to hospital and treated for serious injuries. The team arrested a 36-year-old man from Swindon on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
There will be an extra police presence in the area following the violence. Wiltshire police are appealing for anyone with information or footage to contact them.
Detective Chief Inspector Carly Nesbitt said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was near the North Swindon Family Center in Atworth Close Swindon at around 5.30pm this evening and may have witnessed what happened.
“We are aware of the concern this incident will cause for those living nearby. Citizens will be aware of an increased police presence in the area in the coming days. If you have any concerns or information please contact our officers.
“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this time and there is not thought to be an ongoing threat.” Anyone with information or footage from that time is asked to call 101 quoting footage 267 of today (03/12).
