Man who sprayed bottle of semen on women jailed

The man who sexually assaulted several women in stores by spraying liquid containing his semen was jailed.
William Kidd, 27, was found guilty of 25 offenses and sentenced to four years in prison at a hearing at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court.
At an earlier hearing he was found not guilty on 11 counts of sexual assault, eight counts of filming women under their clothes and one count of marijuana possession, but changed his plea to guilty at Friday’s hearing.
He had previously pleaded guilty to five counts of voyeurism.
The court heard Kidd, of no fixed abode, committed a series of offenses against women at shops in the Macclesfield and Handforth areas of Cheshire and the Denton area of Greater Manchester from May to September 2025.
He was caught on security cameras following a number of women around various stores and spraying them with liquid from a bottle without their knowledge. He was also recorded filming some women from behind, under their clothes.
When asked why he sprayed the liquid on women, he told one security guard: “I’m a sex addict” and to another: “I did it to get sexual excitement.”
In an investigation supported by Greater Manchester Police, Cheshire Police have appealed for information by releasing CCTV footage of Kidd and asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
A search on his mobile phone revealed the extent of the crime.
‘Prolific criminal’
Speaking after the sentencing, Senior Crown Prosecutor Shannen Carey, a specially trained solicitor in the Crown Prosecution Service’s (CPS) Mersey-Cheshire Rape and Serious Sexual Crime unit, said: “Over a period of around four months last summer William Kidd became a prolific offender who was completely unaware of what he was doing and simply targeted women shoppers.
“It’s clear that Kidd has given no thought to how these women would feel.
“The impact of what he did will undoubtedly remain with the victims for a long time and he is now a convicted sex offender.”
He said the CPS would like to thank the victims for their help in bringing this prosecution and the retail staff at the stores where the crime took place for their help in providing evidence.
“We would also like to thank Cheshire Police for their meticulous investigation,” he added.
Det Con Tiffany Berry-Perkin, of Cheshire Police, said she praised the victims in this case for their strength and bravery throughout the investigation.
“Thanks to their continued support, our team gathered a tremendous amount of evidence against Kidd, leaving him with no choice but to plead guilty,” he said.
“Kidd deliberately targeted innocent women who were going about their daily lives, completely unaware of the depraved acts he was committing against them.”
