Manchester synagogue attack latest: Multiple people injured in car and stabbing incident as suspect shot by police
A few people were wounded after stabbing and applying a car to public members in a synagogue in Greater Manchester.
The Great Manchester police said that a suspect was shot and four people were injured.
The incident is the most sacred day in Yom Kippur, the most sacred day of the Jewish religious calendar, in the Heaton Park Hebrew Community synagogue in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester.

Social media video shows the event in the synagogue
The video shared on social media showed that police officers showed a gun to someone in front of the Hebranian community synagogue Heaton Park.
The armed officers shouted to the audience to “return” and “continue”.
It is seen that the person on the ground starts to get up without the sound of firearms and falls to the ground.
He lies still on the place outside the synagogue gates with blood next to another person’s head.

Police, ‘Plato declared’ he said.
The Great Manchester police said that he had “declared Plato” – the national code word used when responding to the “looter terrorist attack” by police and emergency services.
The force said: “The police, Middleton Road, Crumpsall in the Heaton Park Hebrew Synagogue, was called by a member of the public at 9.31 o’clock and a man was stabbed to the members of the public and said that a man was stabbed.

Dave Rich of the Community Security Foundation, a charity that follows antisemitism in the UK, said, “Yom Kippur is the most sacred day of the Jewish year.
“A very serious day and synagogues around the country will be full throughout the day.
“At all great Jewish festivals, there is always a significant security operation between the police and CST in the Jewish community.”
He said that he was similar to the Christmas Day for Christians in terms of religious importance in the year, but that he was the day of seriousness and fasting instead of celebration.
