Pauline Hanson eyes State of Origin, helicopter banners as ‘Liar’ campaign rakes in $3m

Pauline Hanson will open her $3 million war chest to target Anthony Albanese by flying “giant banners” from helicopters during State of Origin, as she reveals the scope of her Fire The Liar campaign.

The One Nation leader claimed to have raised almost $4 million in donations in a matter of days, prompting a rebuke from Mr Albanese and a subsequent audit.

Standing firmly behind the rapidly accumulating sum, Senator Hanson said on Sunday that One Nation was “working on TV ads for State of Origin and giant banners that will fly under helicopters in our major cities, thanks to your donations”.

“This is real money, real data and a real campaign to get rid of Labor,” the Queensland Senator said in a social media post.

“Albo, you underestimated the anger of the Australian people and as a result we are coming after you.”

Senator Hanson also released a “heat map” showing where donations were made to the anti-Albania campaign.

The campaign is estimated to have received approximately 50,000 donations, with an average spend of less than $60.

The campaign was launched in response to Labor calling for donations of $27.

“This (campaign) proves you are not alone in supporting the removal of Australia’s worst prime minister, who has told countless lies,” Senator Hanson said in the post.

“One Nation turns Albo’s lies into a full-scale campaign to oust the Liar.”

With Mr Albanese making multiple references to there being more than one “Opposition Leader”, Labor has toughened its rhetoric on One Nation in recent weeks, rising to the top of the first ballot in several polls.

Liberal Leader Angus Taylor this week refused to rule out a deal with One Nation after party leader and former prime minister Tony Abbott confirmed a possible preference swap.

Senator Hanson, on the other hand, is increasingly questioning her potential as prime minister.

Earlier this week there was a truck billboard outside the Prime Minister’s election office in Sydney advertising the “Fire the Liar” campaign.
