Manhunt after reports of two teenage girls raped in Norfolk
Police launched a manhunt after reports of the rape of two teenage girls in Great Yarmouth.
Police officers were called to the South Beach Parade at 12.37am on Saturday following reports of two rapes.
Norfolk Police Service attended the scene and removed the cordon while they investigated, which has now been removed.
A man in his thirties was arrested on suspicion of rape in Northamptonshire on Sunday and was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Center where he remained for questioning.
Police are looking for a second suspect, described as a white man in his thirties or forties with short black hair and a dark beard. He was wearing jeans and a dark green jacket with a white stripe on both sleeves.
Chief Inspector Nick Paling, Great Yarmouth area commander, said: “We recognize how shocking and distressing these incidents are to the victims, their families and the wider community. Specialist officers have been deployed to support both girls as we carry out this investigation.”
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and officers will carry out assurance patrols. Please contact them if you have any concerns or information.”
