Manosphere influencers arrested in Miami

Miami: Manosphere influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested and detained in Miami and British authorities will seek to extradite them to face charges over alleged sexual offences.
U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Brady McCarron said the arrest warrant was sealed. But the brothers are wanted in the United Kingdom, where they face rape and human trafficking charges.
British officials confirmed they would seek the extradition of the brothers, who are US and British citizens.
The former professional kickboxers promote hypermasculinity, unapologetic misogyny and a luxurious lifestyle on social media, known as the “manosphere”, and have millions of followers, mostly young men.
In a statement from Bedfordshire Police in the United Kingdom, it was stated that the brothers were detained after the police investigated a series of alleged sexual offenses that resulted in additional charges.
The Crown Prosecution Service authorized 38 new charges against the brothers, bringing the total number of charges to 59. Andrew Tate, 39, faced 42 charges and Tristan, 38, faced 17 charges.
The original charges were based on a dossier of evidence presented by officers from Bedfordshire Police with allegations dating back to 2012. A police statement said the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit continues to investigate further crimes reported to both Bedfordshire Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary, which have led to additional charges.
Assistant Chief Constable Karena Thomas said: “Officers from our serious crime unit are working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service and both national and international law enforcement as part of this complex investigation.
“We understand the interest this case will generate, but we urge the public not to speculate and allow the legal process to be carried out properly.
“There is no place for male violence against women and girls and we will continue to work tirelessly to support victims and investigate all reports made to us.”
The Tate brothers moved to Romania in 2016 and were arrested there in 2022, accused of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. They denied these allegations and the case did not proceed due to procedural irregularities.
