Married at First Sight star arrested on rape suspicion

An actor from Married at First Sight UK has been arrested on suspicion of rape following allegations made by the BBC’s investigation into the reality show.
British broadcaster Channel 4 removed all seasons of the program from its streaming service in May after two women told BBC News they were raped during filming and a third alleged non-consensual sexual intercourse.
They all said the program did not do enough to protect them, the BBC reported.
The show, in which strangers are matched by experts and “married” in front of cameras, is part of an international franchise in several countries, including the United States and Australia.
Channel 4 said in April that “serious allegations” had been made against a small number of past contributors, allegations “which we understand the contributors deny”.
It has launched a review of the hit reality TV show produced by independent production company CPL.
In a statement to the BBC, London’s Metropolitan Police said: “On Thursday 18 June, Met officers arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of rape.
“This relates to an ongoing investigation by the Met Police.”
Channel 4 has not yet made a decision on whether the final season of the ongoing series will be broadcast.
