Meghan Markle’s popularity among Brits plunges even further despite charm offensive | Royal | News

Meghan Markle’s popularity in the UK has fallen further despite her recent attempts to revive her image, a new poll has revealed. The Duchess of Sussex’s popularity has waned since she left the Royal Family with her husband Prince Harry in 2020.

Harry and Meghan now consistently rank among the least-liked royals, above Prince Andrew as the most disliked member of the Royal Family. Meghan’s net favorability with the British public was the lowest among the five other members of the Royal Family – King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate and Prince Harry – according to a new poll by Ipsos.

According to the market research company, which surveyed 1,036 adults between 20 and 21 October, the Duchess’ net positive opinion fell to minus 39; because fewer than two in 10 Britons (17%) said they had a positive opinion of him.

Meanwhile, almost six in 10 (56%) said they had a negative opinion of him, bringing his net positive opinion to minus 39%. While 25 percent stated that they had no positive or negative opinion, 3 percent responded “I don’t know.”

Her husband, meanwhile, scored better, achieving a minus 16% favorability score.

Three in 10 (28%) said they had a positive view of Prince Harry, while nearly 4 in 10 (44%) said they had a negative view.

While 27 percent stated that they did not have a specific opinion, 2 percent responded “I don’t know.”

The most popular member of the royal family was Prince William, who scored a plus 58; Seven in 10 Brits said they liked it, while only a tenth (11%) said they didn’t.

It comes as the Duchess of Sussex has recently been out promoting charity work and promoting mental health across the US, in what is seen as a renewed strategy for the Sussexes as they try to find a path to reconciliation with the royal family.
