Meghan Markle’s UK absence left organisers ‘relieved’ | Royal | News

Meghan was expected to join the Duke for talks in both London and Birmingham during his five-day trip to England last week. It was later announced that the duchess will not be joining her husband in London, but there is hope that she may join him in Birmingham, where Harry has officially marked the one-year-to-date countdown to next year’s Invictus Games. But just hours before the engagement, it became even clearer that Meghan would not be joining her husband.
Sources claim that some Invictus Games organizers “welcomed” the last-minute change and that it managed to draw attention to the only thing that matters: veterans.
A source told journalist Rob Shuter: bottom stack: “There was a real sense of relief backstage.
“When Harry arrives alone, the focus stays exactly where he wants it; on the veterans, not the media frenzy surrounding the royal couple. Everyone can relax and let the occasion shine.”
Another source described Duke as “low maintenance” and praised him for being easy to work with.
They said: “He’s incredibly low-maintenance. He’ll happily change plans, stay with athletes longer and go where he’s needed. The whole atmosphere feels lighter when it’s just Harry.”
However, they claimed that there was a different approach when his wife got involved.
They said: “His visits often include extra security meetings, tighter schedules and constant last-minute arrangements.
“When Harry is on his own, everything is refreshingly simple. The team can focus on delivering a great event rather than managing endless logistics and drama.”
