Donald Trump Rages At Democrats After Jeffrey Epstein Emails Disclosure, Warns Republicans Of “No Deflections” — Update

UPDATED: Donald Trump weighed in on Wednesday’s release of emails from Jeffrey Epstein in which Trump claimed Trump “knew about the girls” and spent “hours” with one of Epstein’s victims at his home.
“Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they will do anything to ignore how poorly they did on the Shutdown and so many other issues. Only a very bad or stupid Republican would fall into this trap,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He also called on Republicans to avoid talking about Epstein. “There should be no deviation to Epstein or anything else, and the Republicans involved should only focus on opening up our Country and repairing the massive damage the Democrats have caused!”
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released three emails, including one from Epstein to Ghislaine Maxwell on April 2, 2011: “I want you to understand that the dog that doesn’t bark is trump. [Victim] I spent hours with him in my house, and he was never mentioned. Police chief. etc. “I’m 75% there.”
In another email dated January 31, 2019, Epstein wrote to the journalist: Michael Wolff“[Victim] mara lago. [identifier]. Trump said he wanted me to resign, I was never a member. “Of course he knew about the girls when he told Ghislaine to stop.”
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was peppered with questions about the release of the emails.
“These emails prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong,” Leavitt told reporters.
“President Trump always said he was from Palm Beach, and so was Jeffrey Epstein. Jeffrey Epstein was a member of Mar-a-Lago until President Trump kicked him out because Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile and a creep.”
House Republicans and the White House said the unidentified victim in the emails was Virginia Giuffre. According to CNN, she said in a 2016 deposition that she “never saw or witnessed Donald Trump participating in these acts, but was he at Jeffrey Epstein’s house? I heard he was, but I didn’t see him myself, so I don’t know.”
Leavitt was also asked why the White House did not release all the Epstein files and “put this to rest.” While the press secretary said that the Justice Department had released tens of thousands of documents and was cooperating with the Oversight Committee, he described the pressure to release the full files as “a hoax produced by the Democratic Party.”
Later Wednesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson is expected to swear in newly elected Rep. Adelita Grijalva of Arizona, a Democrat from Arizona. It is expected that the 218th signature will be placed on the petition for a full vote in the Parliament to publish the files.
Leavitt was asked about an ABC News report that White House officials met with Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) as part of an effort to have her name removed from the petition.
Leavitt responded: “Doesn’t it show transparency that members of the Trump administration are willing to brief members of Congress whenever they want? Doesn’t that show our level of transparency?” He did not deny ABC News’ report and said, “I will not detail the conversations that took place in the Situation Room, the press briefing room.”
