Authorities are considering the plan to raise the border wing house guards (BWHG) on the Chinese border, similar to the guards on the Indian-Pakistan border. Hindu.
BWHGs benefit from the civilian population living in the border regions and act as auxiliary to the army and other border forces in emergencies. There are seven states authorized to have BWHGS: Meghalaya, Tripura, Assem, West Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Used in Sindoor Operation
However, they are currently operating only in Rajasthan, 2,279 BWHG, which is currently active in the state. The competitions have recently been realized during the Sindoor operation when the services had to collect or spread information between the border population.
“It is a voluntary force and Rajasthan is the only state with BWHG in the present time. They fulfill the responsibilities of an officer and are generally recorded for three to four years. 25% training cost is covered by the Indian government. The usual wage is equivalent to the goods of a constitution.”
Increasing existence, intelligence collection
MHA held a meeting with China to increase the power of BWHGs to actively participate with border protection forces, including the Indian Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) deployed along the border of 3,488 km.
Since 2020, more than 50,000 army and ITBP staff have been deployed to East Ladakh. A senior government official said that the upgrade of BWHGs would help to increase India’s existence and intelligence gathering efforts.
Twenty Indian personnel, including a colonel, were killed in violent clashes, the worst event between the two countries for decades during the real control line (LAC) in Ladakh on 20 June 2020.
After a few rounds of conversations, there are 26 active patrol points (PP), which has not been patrolled by Indian troops since April-May 2020 in East Ladakh. Previously patrolled areas have been transformed into “buffer zones, and the Chinese do not send unity there. PPS is often used to claim regional claims along the unidentified border.
