Thousands of fans lined the streets of Manhattan for a historic ticker tape parade, turning the Thursday workday into a spontaneous holiday as the city honored the victorious team.

Check out what happened when NBA champion Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks and Michael Porter Jr., the star player of the Brooklyn Nets across town, arrived at a venue in a video that went viral.
Brunson, along with his wife Ali, are dating Michael Porter Jr., who is dating former Denver Nuggets teammate Peyton Watson. arrived at the World Cup after-party hosted by Justin Bieber in New York at the same time.

Porter may earn more per season than Brunson ($40.8 million per season compared to $37.7 million), but the latter has achieved the extremely rare “King of New York” status.
This means Brunson and his wife don’t have to wait in line or make sure they’re on the guest list when they arrive anywhere. Porter had to do just that.

The video shows Porter and Watson, who are champions in their own right after winning the NBA championship with the Nuggets in 2023, having to register at the front door of the arena.
Meanwhile, as the Brunson couple walked directly through the front door, camera flashes instantly illuminated the area.

“Mr. Brunson, how are you?” the security guard at the front door told the NBA Finals MVP.
In New York culture, playing for the Knicks carries a certain weight compared to playing with the Nets in Brooklyn. First, the Knicks are the more iconic team; He plays at “The Mecca”, that is, Madison Square Garden. History, fanatical fans and, of course, this group led by Brunson, who won the first championship in 53 years, excited the city more than the Nets.
The Nets moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn in 2012, and although they have had some teams with NBA All-Stars since then, they are never expected to take over the percentage of Knicks fans in the five-area area.
