AP CM Naidu Urges Promotion of Udayagiri Wood Cutlery Craft

Nellore: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called for the promotion of Udayagiri wooden cutlery art.
“Very impressive… Introduce Udayagiri wooden cutlery – it will bring huge recognition to this district,” he told district collector Himanshu Shukla on Friday at the helipad in Edagali village Venkatachalam mandal, where he was welcomed by the collector. Shukla gifted Naidu a set of Udayagiri wooden cutlery.
Prepared by blending traditional wood craftsmanship with modern design, Udayagiri wooden cutlery consists of spoons, forks, knives, bowls, kitchen utensils and decorative items. These products are known across India for their elegance, durability and artistic excellence.
The craft, which has a heritage of nearly 150 years, has given the Udayagiri region a unique cultural identity. Each product is carefully handcrafted using fine tools and premium quality wood.
Naidu urged the district collector to encourage and support local artisans, ensuring that this traditional art form continues to evolve in line with modern market demand.
