Microsoft Azure, 365 down for thousands of users, Downdetector shows
(Reuters) – Microsoft’s Azure and its suite of productivity software were unavailable to thousands of users on Wednesday, according to outage tracking site Downdetector.com.
According to Downdetector, which tracks outages by compiling status reports from various sources, Azure was down for more than 16,600 users and Microsoft 365 was down for approximately 9,000 users.
“We are investigating an issue with the Azure Portal where customers may be experiencing issues accessing the portal,” Azure said on its status page.
The status page stated that users may not be able to access the Microsoft 365 admin center and may see delays when accessing other services. Users are also facing issues with add-ins and network connectivity in Outlook.
Microsoft said it was investigating reports of an issue affecting Azure and services, including the Microsoft 365 admin center and other services.
Amazon’s AWS cloud service suffered an outage last week that caused global mayhem across thousands of sites, including some of the internet’s most popular apps like Snapchat and Reddit.
