Milford Haven teacher ‘feared she would die’ during pupil attack, court hears

A teacher feared she was dying after being stabbed in the head with a large kitchen knife by her pupil, a court heard.
The 16-year-old tracked Vicki Williams to a classroom at Milford Haven Comprehensive School in Pembrokeshire and asked for help with her history studies.
Swansea Crown Court heard the man then “attacked” him with the knife, stabbing him in the head and pushing him back into the chair.
Williams told the jury he believed he was dying and thought: “I’m dying. I’ll never see my daughter again.”
The young man, whose name cannot be given due to his age, denies the allegations of attempted murder, intentional wounding and unlawful wounding, but admitted that he had previously possessed a knife.
On the second day of the trial, Williams told the jury he had given the boy a lesson earlier that day and that the boy was “absolutely fine” with the lesson.
He said that he did not remember having any problems with him before and believed that they got along well.
He said it was “unusual” for him to come to his class to clarify his work and that he was a “kid with poor study ability”, but acknowledged that he may have had a “wake-up call” after the mock exams.
Describing the moments before the alleged attack, Williams said the defendant asked him to help him with his history studies and repeatedly asked “is this true?” He said he asked. while pointing at his book.
“She’s always going through her bag, she doesn’t look at it [the book]” said Williams.
“It’s a tactic to get me to talk. Then he tries to crawl. A slow move to get behind me.”
The teacher said the teenager took “something out of the bag” and dropped it on the chair, adding: “I look up and the tip of the knife is down.
“It felt very heavy, like there was a lot of pressure. I grabbed the knife while making a stabbing motion.
“The look was pure hatred. The eyes were pure hatred, definitely not empty.”
