Millie Bobby Brown chose Atlanta over Hollywood thanks to ‘Stranger Things’

Millie Bobby Brown has “Stranger Things” to thank for putting down roots in Atlanta and living away from Hollywood.
During a cover story December issue of British VogueBrown told the outlet that since he grew up filming the hit Netflix show in Atlanta, it felt right for him to stay in the Georgia city permanently and raise his family there.
“I grew up here, you know? Because of ‘Stranger Things,’ this is the longest place I’ve ever been in a row. To me, this is home,” Brown said. The actress was born in Spain but moved to Florida with her family before landing her breakout role in the Netflix series.

Brown’s parents decided to move to Georgia while their daughter was filming “Stranger Things” rather than commuting from Hollywood.

“They didn’t want me to grow up in that world,” Brown said of the industry. “I love what I do, but it doesn’t define me. There’s a sense of purpose in your personal life.”

Brown lives on a farm with Jon Bon Jovi’s son, Jake Bongiovi.
In February, Brown interviewed: Vanity Fair and admitted that she mostly stayed offline and didn’t choose the farm life to become a “traditional wife” influencer, a shortened version of “traditional wife.” traditional wives is a subculture of women who believe in clear gender roles and show off to other women on social media their housewife lifestyle, which often involves living in a farmhouse and cooking from scratch.

“I don’t [farm life] for aesthetics. I do this because I love it. Maybe there are some traditional women who do this because it looks healthy, but it’s not. If you can’t lift horses or wash a cow with your bare hands, then life is not made for you. Absolutely,” Brown said.

While his lifestyle may be chaotic, Brown wouldn’t have it any other way.
“You think animals are peaceful. You think the South is peaceful. You think it’s peaceful here. But there’s a lot of chaos. My animals are loud, it’s messy, and my dogs are crazy. And, you know, there’s laughter, there’s a lot of passion and excitement, and it’s a very vibrant place. There’s a lot of chaos, and I thrive here,” she said.

Brown and Bongiovi announced their engagement in April 2023 and married in May 2024. Brown was 20 at the time and Bongiovi was 22, which sparked some controversy online.

“I realized that I was young; I know that, I really can’t say that enough,” Brown told Vogue. “You know when you meet that person.”
The young couple adopted and gave birth to their daughter this summer. During an appearance “Mindless” podcastBrown explained that being a young mother was a “thing” for her.

“My mother actually gave birth to her first child when she was 21, and my father was 19,” she said. “This has been my calling since I met Jake. I wanted to be a mother, just like my mother was to me.”

Brown told Vogue that her adoption journey has been amazing.
“It’s been such a beautiful, incredible journey; it’s taught us so much already. Perspective is such a big thing. The little things in life are so much more valuable. Our days are filled with hugs, laughter and love. It’s just endless joy,” she said.
Brown told Vogue that she and her husband split parenting duties 50 percent of the time.
“We’re 50-50 on everything. So I’m so grateful to partner with him in this life; he’s just a really great dad,” she said.
Vogue asked Brown about her baby’s personality, and Brown quickly dismissed the topic by saying that she wanted to give her daughter the opportunity to tell the world about herself one day, if she wanted to.

“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially share it on her own one day. It’s not my place to knowingly or unintentionally put her in the spotlight.”

“If she chooses to share her personality with the world one day, like I did when I was young, that’s something we would support. But right now, because she’s so young… It’s our job as parents to protect her from that,” Brown said.
In the season 5 premiere of “Stranger Things,” Brown opened up about her first few months of motherhood and revealed the identity of her baby’s godfather.
“They say you’re losing sleep… You’re sleeping,” Brown said. Fun Tonight on the carpet.
“There’s nothing like insomnia. I mean, you actually wake up and you’re like, ‘What time is it?’ you say. But I’m there for whatever he needs.”

When the media asked the actor who from the “Stranger Things” cast was allowed to babysit, the actor revealed that Noah Schnapp, who played the role of Will Byers, was his daughter’s godfather.
However, Sadie Sink, Max Mayfield’s character in the series, was also given babysitting leave.

“Sadie is such a motherly person,” Brown said. “Honestly, I trust all of them. When baby sounds come out when I’m around him, they all turn into the most sensual, soft versions of themselves.”
After the premiere, Brown to Instagram and shared a few new photos. One photo shows the new mother pushing a stroller, while the other shows Bongiovi sitting in an adult-sized BabyBjörn crash chair.

She captioned the post: “cheeeeeese.”
“Stranger Things” fans are eagerly awaiting the fifth and final season after its fourth season is released in 2022.
The final season of the Netflix science fiction series will be released in three parts. The first episode was released on November 26. The second episode will be released on December 25, and the last episode will be released on December 31.
