Missile alerts sound in West Asian countries despite Iran, US saying they’ve reached ceasefire

Israel and the United Arab Emirates raised missile alerts early Wednesday even as Iran and the United States said they had reached a two-week ceasefire in the war.

It was not immediately clear what was targeted in the two countries, which bore the brunt of missile and drone attacks during the war.

Missile warnings also continued in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait early Wednesday, signaling chaos surrounding diplomatic moves.

Throughout the war, Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard called the shots on all decisions. Individual commanders made decisions about what to strike and when, while the country’s political leadership stood aside.


With the ceasefire declared and negotiations planned in Islamabad, it remained unclear whether they would agree to cease fire.

But many Middle East wars see warriors launching last-minute attacks to gain victory with their people.
