Assam govt prepares for mega eviction drive in Golaghat, to affect 2,000 families

Authorities, on Monday, July 28, 2025, the Assem government, at least 2,000 families in the region of the Gobal region of more than 10,000 BIGHA (more than 3,300 acres) is preparing to clean the land.

Another official said, “A comprehensive land survey was conducted in the Rengma Reserve Forest. Thousands of forest lands Bigha were found to be converted into agricultural land by the rapists.” He said.
