Flooded Musi River Leaves Behind a Trail of Muck and Debris

Haydarabad: On Saturday, Hayarabad witnessed heavy floods that were damaged in several areas. Although water has begun to retreat in many regions, the destruction remaining behind can be clearly seen.

One of the main events was reported to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) on Saturday. On Sunday, Hydraa’s DRF and MET personnel pump most of the water, and buses were allowed to work from the station. However, it was slightly damaged by bus station platforms and other infrastructures.

The new Moosarambagh-Amberpet Bridge, which is currently under construction, was also damaged. For the columns of the bridge, the pier was sweeping on Saturday by the heavy streams of the Musi River. Water levels rose to about 12 feet in the region and completely sunk the old bridge that day.

Until Sunday, the water declined and flowed under the old bridge, but the police and DRF staff did not open it for vehicle traffic. Drf staff Srinivas said, “We will have to carry out the inspections of both the old and the new bridge before reopening the old bridge for vehicles from the old and new bridge,” he said.

On Sunday, in Chaderghat and Malakpet, where residents moved to security by GHMC and Hydraa officials, the water began to withdraw from the houses that were completely sunk, and people slowly began to return home.

The flood affected many other places. Rain water carried soil, silts and rocks, and as he pulled, he left the wrecks scattered on the roads and streets. In addition, pits and water -filled roads caused serious traffic congestion in areas such as Kachiguda, Dilsukhnagar and Liberty.

Civil teams from both Hydraa and GHMC are conducting aid operations in the affected areas and the authorities called on people living near the Musi River to remain cautious.
