This is the moment a man with a knife attacked a woman during a stabbing attack in Paris that injured three people, including a pregnant woman.
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez and Paris police said that three women, aged 19, 24 and 36, were hospitalized after the attack at around 11.30 in the Porte de Clichy region in the north of the capital.
“They were treated by the emergency department and transported to the hospital,” police said.
Nunez said two people were seriously injured but their lives were not in danger. One was shot in the lower back and the other in the abdomen. One of the victims is in critical condition.
“The perpetrator was captured by an off-duty police officer,” Nunez said.
The 31-year-old suspect, who was thought to have a mental health problem, was arrested at the scene following the police operation. According to local media reports, the man had two knives in his hand.
In videos shared on social media, a beige-colored man with long black hair is seen wielding two knives before being pinned into a chair by bystanders.

Nunez added that he made ‘inconsistent statements’ but warned against jumping to conclusions about his reasons.
A source close to the investigation told Le Parisien: ‘The man said, ‘God sent me to kill women.’ But no, he’s crazy.”
However, the anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office did not take up the case and terrorism is not the leading theory.
According to local media reports, the Porte de Clichy tram station was closed from 13:00 onwards by order of the Paris police.
Referring to X, Paris Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire wrote: ‘I extend all my thoughts to the victims of this act of extreme violence.
‘The investigation must shed light on the motivations of the perpetrator. I express my deep gratitude to the off-duty police officer who subdued the attacker.’
