Moment Russian falls from top of giant tree as he tries to fly flag | World | News

A video spread on pro-Ukrainian social media accounts showing a man climbing a pine tree and hanging a Soviet Union flag before falling. The video, which could not be independently verified by the Daily Express, was shared on X by Anton Gerashchenko, a former advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (2021–2023).

In the footage published on the Telegram channel, which includes updates about the war in Ukraine @karymat, the man is seen slowly climbing the tree and reaching the top with the aim of attaching a USSR flag to the top. After a few moments, a branch breaks, causing it to suddenly fall to the ground, breaking dry branches as it goes. The decline appeared sudden and uncontrolled.

Two other men, presumably Russian, are seen standing in front of the camera. They both raise their right arms and make a peace sign before one of them appears to give a brief Nazi salute, then turns away as the man behind them falls. Throughout the video, the men can be heard screaming and shouting in Russian.

The video caused a stir on social media. One user said the images depicted the “Rise and Fall of the USSR in 10 Seconds”, while another joked that “some alcohol was flowing in there” and they “didn’t even notice it had fallen”.

Another user wrote: “Hope the tree is okay.”

The video continued to spread online, garnering views and reactions.

This comes as Russian troops have infiltrated the strategic city of Kostyantynivka in eastern Ukraine and are now trying to encircle it. Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones attacked ports in the Kerch and Krasnodar Krain of the Russian Federation.
