The serial sexpot has been jailed for the third time in three years and branded a danger to children in the UK after he was caught in photos of almost 400,000 young teenagers. Peter Stilwell, 38, was repeatedly brought to court for having pornographic images of children on his computer, but he downloaded more images, ignoring a legal ban on possessing electronic equipment without permission.
After being given suspended sentences in 2021 and 2022, Stilwell was sentenced to three years in prison in 2023 for an unrelated DUI crash that left a man seriously injured. But while he was on licence, he was arrested again for breaching the 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) in 2025, when detectives discovered he had 10 digital devices that were not registered with the police.

Stilwell, of Runcorn, Cheshire, was jailed for a further 27 months for the breach; However, he was interrogated again in custody after the police found 397,600 images of children while investigating these 10 devices.
Chester Crown Court heard officers stopped classifying the photos after reviewing 2,101 images. Some showed young people being raped.
Stilwell, who is currently at HMP Altcourse in Liverpool, admitted three charges of possessing indecent images of children and was given a further 13 months’ detention order, SHPO for life, and was told to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Judge Steven Everett told Stilwell: “You have a very poor record of this type of offending and that is why I have to sentence you.
“In June 2021 you received a suspended sentence for possession of indecent images, on 14 December 2022 you received a further suspended sentence order for similar matters, including breaches in relation to the previously imposed suspended sentence, and then moved that three-year custody date forward for a completely different type of offense, namely causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
“While holding this licence, you appeared before me on 10 April 2025 for breaching a previously imposed sexual harm prevention order, failing to register ten internet devices, failing to report cloud account registration, failing to report two USB devices to the police and failing to comply with notification requirements; for this reason, I sentenced you to 27 months in prison.
“Your life over the past five or six years has shown you to be a serial offender of possessing indecent images of children and, in my judgment, you pose a high risk of serious harm to children.
“It is clear to me that you are undoubtedly a dangerous individual.”

Prosecutor Dylan Wagg said the latest discovery came after police went to Stilwell’s home and found that he had not reported using 10 internet devices and a cloud system, as well as two USB devices.
It said 2,101 indecent images were later recovered from a Samsung mobile phone and HP laptop.
He added: “The majority were deemed live and accessible.
“A total of 48 videos were available on the laptop. It is fair to say that the classification of the media on the computer was stopped due to the large number of images. A total of 395,555 images were not categorized.”
Stilwell made no comment in police interviews. His lawyer Jeremy Rawson said: “Until he was taken into custody he was living with his mother and stepfather, who are now very seriously ill. His records do not help him.”
Following the case, Det Con Kelsey Lee, of Cheshire Constabulary’s Online Child Exploitation Investigation Team (OCAIT), said: “Stilwell continued to offend and thought he could get away with it. Now he is paying the price for his sickening behaviour.”
