Monster jailed after campaign of rape and torture | UK | News

A man who raped two women and subjected both victims to prolonged physical and sexual torture has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Harry Arnold, 38, of Folkstone, formerly of The Street, Newington, was found guilty of numerous sexual offenses following two hearings at Canterbury Crown Court.

The court heard how Arnold repeatedly subjected two women, who did not know each other, to humiliation, humiliation and violent abuse by forcing them to participate in his extreme sexual fantasies without their consent. Kent Police launched an investigation in February 2020 after a victim came forward. Arnold was arrested within two days. A second victim later contacted officers and told them that she had also engaged in similar abuse.

Specialist detectives spent years building the case by examining 15 electronic devices, medical records and witness statements. The file was forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023.

Arnold was charged and pleaded not guilty. In February 2025, a jury found him guilty of controlling and coercive behavior, but was unable to reach a verdict on the rape charges and was forced to retrial.

Following a second trial at Canterbury Crown Court in March 2026, he was found guilty of a further eight offences, including multiple rapes of both women.

On Wednesday, May 13, Arnold was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He will serve another three years on license and remain on the sex offender register for life.

He was also subject to a restraining order and banned from working with children or vulnerable adults indefinitely.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Lizzie Burridge said: “This significant prison sentence is the right outcome for a depraved sexual predator.

“This is a testament to the tremendous courage of his victims, who endured unimaginable abuse and then had to go through two hearings to see justice done.

“This also reflects the hard work of the officers who painstakingly spent years building this complex case. We are committed to pursuing sex offenders and ensuring they face the consequences of their actions.”
