Cab driver monster John Worboys could have raped ‘hundreds’ of women all over Britain Carrie Johnson warns in bombshell interview with the Daily Mail’s Deep Dive podcast

Survivor ‘Sarah’ said John Worboys could have had victims from Bournemouth to as far north as Blackpool. Daily Mail’s Deep Dive podcast.
Sarah, one of 12 women whose cases led to Worboys’ conviction in 2009, tried to remind viewers of ITV’s new drama about the serial rapist, Believe Me, that there was convincing evidence that his crimes ‘extended his network far beyond London’.
Speaking to broadcaster Nicola Thorp, Sarah, along with fellow victim and wife of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Carrie Johnson, urged women who believe they may have been attacked by the Worboys to contact the police as more victims coming forward is crucial to keeping him behind bars.
Last month, Worboys, now 68, was once again denied parole. Despite being convicted of attacks on 16 women over eight years, he came frighteningly close to being released in 2018 when his application was approved at a special Parole Board hearing after just a decade behind bars.
Sarah and Carrie, who waived their right to anonymity in the process, fought tirelessly to have the decision overturned. Both have characters loosely based on them in the new ITV drama.

Between 2000 and 2008 Worboys used his licensed black taxi in London to drug and assault lonely women, persuading them to drink spiked champagne with tales of a major casino victory.
Carrie recently told the Daily Mail she narrowly escaped the attack by spilling her first drink when Worboys wasn’t looking.
Sarah said: ‘Although the press focused the blame on London, it’s really important to note that there were reports from women who said they were attacked in Bournemouth, where Worboys had a property, and in Blackpool, where he worked.
‘So it’s not just London. I heard a report from a lady who believed she had been attacked by him in Blackpool.
‘I don’t want people to watch the show and say, this sounds familiar, or it sounds familiar, but it couldn’t have happened to me because I don’t live in London.’
‘I don’t think he’s just attacking people in London, he’s widened his network a bit.’
Many of those close to the case, including Sarah and Carrie, believe Worboys had many more victims than he was convicted of.
At his second trial at the Old Bailey in 2019, the court heard Worboys told a prison psychologist he had given alcohol to around 90 women and drugged around a quarter.
He told the same psychologist that he had harbored fantasies about these crimes as early as 1986, a full 14 years before the crime for which he was first convicted.
When Worboys’ initial arrest was announced, police took statements from many more women than were included in the 2009 investigation.
The CPS selected only 12 cases to go before the jury. Many other women who reported to the police at the time saw their cases dismissed.

Carrie Johnson told Deep Dive she believes the actual number of women targeted by Worboys could be in the thousands
Carrie he told Deep Dive He believes the actual number of women targeted by Worboys could be in the thousands.
He said: ‘There was a girl who messaged me on Instagram and said she had a story very similar to mine.
‘He had gone to the police at the same time as me, but was told they had enough evidence by that point so they were not recording the incident. I wonder how many examples like this exist.
‘It’s not too late. You can call 101 and quote Safford; they will know exactly what you are talking about. Don’t think, ‘He went to prison, that’s it.’ It hasn’t been done yet.
‘The way we caught him last time was that he admitted crimes between certain dates and his dates were wrong because more girls came forward. I think the crime period is much longer than that.
‘We know that he was a taxi driver from 2000 to 2008; This means he collected women in that taxi every night for eight years. Hundreds, maybe thousands of women.
‘The kind of women who get into taxis, probably mostly tourists, are just here for work, they didn’t know anything about it.
‘Not only that, she was a stripper before becoming a taxi driver. I received messages from two women who said they were attacked when they were strippers and before that, they were an amateur porn star.
‘His whole life was preoccupied with sex and preyed on women who let their guard down.’
