Multi-vehicle collision in U.P.’s Mirzapur leaves 11 dead, probe underway

Eleven people, including children, died in a multi-vehicle collision triggered by suspected brake failure in a truck in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Thursday (April 23, 2026).

Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik said that the accident was reported around 8.30 pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, following which police and fire brigades rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations with the help of local residents.
