Narasaraopet Member of Parliament and TDP Lok Sabha Floor Leader Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Monday, May 11, 2026, and presented a number of important proposals to strengthen rail connectivity and boost infrastructure-oriented development in Palnadu and Andhra Pradesh.
During the meeting, the MP sought approval for a new railway corridor connecting Piduguralla-Savalyapuram to Ramayapatnam Port. He said increased rail connectivity to the port will significantly boost the cement, limestone, agriculture and logistics sectors in Palnadu and Prakasam districts while also improving freight transportation and employment opportunities.
Mr. Sri Krishna Devarayalu also urged the Railway Ministry to provide stopovers for premium trains at Nadikudi or Piduguralla stations, including Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express and Lingampalli-Vijayawada Express, to ease travel difficulties faced by students, employees, traders and daily commuters from the district.
Additionally, he proposed a new Vijayawada-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express service, citing increased passenger movement between Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru. The Railway Minister reportedly responded positively and assured that the proposals would be examined.
