Narine Credits Hard Work After KKR’s Big Win Over GT

Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Sunil Narine praised the team’s hard work and preparation after their 29-run win against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Saturday.
While Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green starred with the bat, Narine was impressive with the ball and KKR secured an emphatic win.
Narine said after the match: “I think it comes with hard work. The guys are preparing very well and getting into the tough pitches, it shows.” “Hopefully we can continue to win cricket matches no matter what the tournament has in store for us.”
Narine also achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first overseas cricketer and the 13th player overall to play 200 IPL matches.
Reflecting on the success, Narine described it as a blessing and expressed hope of continuing for many more seasons.
“This is something that goes a long way and the journey continues. I hope I can continue to deliver these types of performances and play for as long as possible,” he added.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane praised the team’s overall performance, especially the aggressive batting of Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green.
Allen smashed 93 off just 35 balls, while Raghuvanshi smashed 82 off 44 balls. Green added an unbeaten 52 off 28 balls to take KKR to a total of 247.
“It’s a very good game. I’m really happy with the two points,” Rahane said. “The way we started with the bat after losing the toss was fantastic. Finn Allen, Angkrish and Cameron Green showed great intent and put the quality bowlers under pressure.”
Rahane also praised the bowling unit, including Saurabh Dubey and Kartik Tyagi, for their strong efforts in defending the total.
“It’s all about having confidence in their abilities,” he added.
