Continuing his tirade against the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao accused the government of betraying the people’s trust and not fulfilling its election promises, including six guarantees. He reiterated that the general election held in Jubilee Hills was a contest between the ‘car’ and the ‘bulldozer’ and stated that the government was targeting the poor through the HYDRAA campaign and that if the ruling party secured the seat, the houses in Borabanda would also be razed to the ground.

Speaking at a roadshow in Borabanda in support of party candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath on Monday, Mr. Rao said, “Two years have passed since the promises made by the Congress but none of them have been implemented. Scooters for girl students have not arrived, Indiramma houses have not been used and ₹ 4,000 pension has not been implemented. The Congress government has not spared anyone from cheating.”

The former minister also slammed the government for HYDRAA’s demolition drive in Sunnam Cherurvu and other areas, saying that under the guise of removing encroachments from water bodies, thousands of poor families have become homeless. Urging voters to support BRS, he said: “Seeing the plight of HYDRAA victims brings tears to the eyes. If you want this monster to disappear, vote for the car symbol.”

He alleged that the Congress government, with its faulty policies, was forcing auto drivers and farmers to end their lives.

He described the ongoing political struggle as a fight “between the car and the bulldozer” and suggested that the Congress government should be warned for its “anti-poor actions”.

Thousands of people from Vinayakanagar, SRT Nagar and surrounding areas attended the roadshow along Borabanda Road.
