NATO Doubles Down on Mutual Defence With ‘Ironclad’ Pledge

Ankara: NATO leaders, including the United States, reaffirmed their “firm commitment” to the mutual assistance clause in Article 5 of the military alliance agreement on Wednesday, according to the final declaration of the Ankara summit.

“We, the heads of state and government of the North Atlantic Alliance, gathered in Ankara to reaffirm our firm commitment to our collective defense under Article 5… An attack on one is an attack on all,” the statement said.
