In a survey, more than four British does not know that Britain won the British War against the Nazis.

Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick’s research found that about two out of three people under the age of 40 had no idea what the British War was.

Although 44% of the 2,000 adults who participated in the survey did not know what the British War referred to, more than 80% of their 65 -year -olds.

He said: “Our history has been neglected for a long time. Even if the rest of the world still looked at us with admiration, we let our past be ashamed.

“It is not surprising that our past achievements are not properly taught in schools.

On the day of the British War, it was observed to commemorate the victory of the Raf on 15 September in 1940 in the Second World War on the German Luftwaffe.

The war itself lasted from July to October 1940, and it was the first major conflict in the air.

Mr. Jenrick said: Every growing child should learn about the heroes of the British War and War Time Belt. Examples should live as a source of inspiration for future generations. ”

Schools can cover the British war as part of the lessons, but it is not compulsory.

Among the topics are listed as optional events that will be included in history classes.

The findings follow a survey conducted by Yougov at the beginning of the year, which finds that only one of ten young people will fight for England.
