Netanyahu calls for evacuating 14 illegal outposts, removing Jewish extremists in West Bank

A political source denied N12’s report, stating that Netanyahu’s meeting was aimed at dealing with “a group of delinquent youths who are not part of the agreement and do not represent it.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called at a recent security meeting for the evacuation of 14 illegal outposts described as “centers of Jewish extremism and nationalist crime,” N12 reported on Saturday.

During the debate, the cabinet decided to target and remove 70 far-right activists hiding in farms and outposts.

The suspects are alleged to have committed acts of violence against Palestinians, mostly inside and outside Palestinian villages.

Approximately 30 of the activists were given restraining orders, and this number is expected to increase.

“Netanyahu has no interest in evacuating police stations. He held a meeting with senior security and social officials with the aim of dealing with a group of delinquent youths who are not part of the settlement and do not represent it,” a political source told N12’s report.

“Any other headline is false and inaccurate,” the source said, according to N12.

The current debate comes after Netanyahu held an emergency meeting in late November to address growing concerns about the failure of the IDF, Shin Bet (Israeli Security Agency) and Israel Police to contain increasing violence by Jewish extremists in the West Bank.

The controversy arose when dozens of young Jewish men entered the Palestinian village of Huwara and set fire to vehicles and buildings.

During the security assessment, the head of IDF Central Command, Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth warned: “The writing is on the wall. There are normal residents living on the farms, and there are lawbreakers and rebels in the police stations.”

Minister of National Missions Orit Strock emphasized the distinctions between the settlers, saying: “There are farms, there are outposts, and they are different.”

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir said, “There are good people in the police stations, too. While it is not possible to evacuate a police station, Arabs who are engaged in illegal construction in the West Bank are not evacuated.”
