Police announced that he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital and remained under observation.

ACT Road Police’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, the ACT’s second road traffic fatality of 2026, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
