Partial US government shutdown ends after Congress votes to fund DHS | US federal government shutdowns

The historically long 75-day partial government shutdown ended after a voice vote in the House to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) following a late-night rally by Republicans in support of the GOP budget plan.
Things turned around Wednesday evening when the House passed a Republican resolution following a last-minute deal on unrelated ethanol fuel provisions, clearing just enough of a hurdle to clear the cap.
The plan unlocked a procedural tool that would allow Republicans to funnel up to $75 billion for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and border patrol across party lines, brushing aside Democratic demands for new oversight after two U.S. citizens were fatally shot by federal agents in January.
Donald Trump has set a June 1 deadline for the final financing package to reach his desk. The White House has warned Congress that without action it will not be able to pay most DHS workers starting in May. more than that 1,100 Transportation Security Administration representatives I have resigned since February until now.
A separate bill funding non-immigrant DHS agencies must pass before lawmakers go on recess.
