NFL news: Eagles’ Saquon Barkley makes thoughts clear on Nick Sirianni

Saquon Barkley epitomized the rivalry between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles as he coached the football for the Big Blue ahead of the 2024 season.
Barkley played for the Giants from 2018 to 2023 and admitted Wednesday that he wasn’t a fan of then-Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni.
But now he can’t get enough of Sirianni as he torments the defense as part of Philadelphia.

“I couldn’t stand this mother crying,” Barkley said. NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I couldn’t do it.”
He was specifically referring to the time the Eagles eliminated the Giants from the playoffs in the 2022 season, the last time New York reached the postseason. He said Sirianni basking in his victory in front of the cameras was something that didn’t sit well with him.
“And that stuck with me for a very long time. That’s why I wasn’t a fan of it,” he added.
Now the situation is completely different.

Barkley said Sirianni “doesn’t get a lot of respect” and that the reason the coach was so successful in Philadelphia was his attention to detail.
Sirianni takes over as head coach in 2021 after serving as offensive coordinator with the Indianapolis Colts. Since then, the Eagles have gone undefeated and played in two Super Bowls, including a win over the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this year.
Sirianni is 58-25 in 83 games and 6-3 in the playoffs.

The Eagles have two more games left in the regular season before returning to the postseason. Philadelphia had already clinched the NFC East title.
