Man dies after horrific multi-vehicle Reid Highway crash forced road closure at Alexander Drive

One person has died in a serious multi-vehicle crash on the Reid Highway.
Police said the collision occurred around 12:55 a.m. on Reid Highway in Dianella and involved a white Toyota LandCruiser, a white Kia Carnival and a white Isuzu truck.
The 49-year-old male driver of the Kia Carnival died at the scene due to his injuries.
His passenger, a 26-year-old male, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 52-year-old male driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser was also transported to Royal Perth Hospital, while his 12-year-old female passenger was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital. Both people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The 47-year-old male driver of the Isuzu truck was uninjured.
St John WA sent five ambulances to the scene of the crash as emergency services worked to treat injured people and manage traffic.
Westbound Reid Highway was closed at Alexander Drive, and motorists were warned to avoid the area as traffic backed up and tow crews remained in the area for hours.
Meanwhile, at around 2.25pm, a second westbound crash on the Reid Highway at Marmion Avenue in Karrinyup caused mayhem for motorists.

At around 3:25 p.m., the right turn lane was partially closed until the incident was resolved.
Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are examining the scene and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage to come forward.
