Katie Miller on this week’s podcast.

Many of Minaj’s online attacks have come about over the governor’s support for transgender children.

“Imagine being the guy running to see trans kids,” Minaj wrote on social media late last year. “Even a trans ADULT wouldn’t admit this. Normal adults wake up and think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids. Not Gav. Gav Nots. GavOUT. Send the next guy away, I’m bored.”

Newsom’s assistant responded to one of Minaj’s criticisms on social media last year by posting a photo of a Nicki Minaj T-shirt in the trash. He captioned the photo: “Stupid H–“, referencing the 2012 song of the same name.

He claimed that “no one cares” about Newsom’s online rhetoric, “and he makes a fool of himself, like when he goes to another country to talk badly about himself, the country, and the president. We would never want someone like that to be our president. Americans are big on loyalty, and this showed us that you don’t have a loyal bone in your body and no one is going to vote for you.”

And he just completely ignored it, right? Next thing you know, he’s there clapping his teeth about women’s rap and trying to get into women’s business. That’s what I had to do. I had to show him who’s boss on Twitter.”
