What happens in Devshayani Ekadashi?
Today, it is believed that Lord Vishnu has entered a divine sleep in Ksheer Sagar’s Seshnag’s snake bed. He wakes up after four months in the giant Uhani Ekadashi (Prabodhini Ekadashi) who came in the month of Kartic. During this period, auspicious activities such as weddings, households and yarn ceremonies are avoided.

- Dwadashi Finish: 23:10 on July 7
Notes: Parace should be done in dwadashi in the tithi. Avoid breaking fasting during Hari Vasara (the first quarter of Dwadashi). Early in the morning is considered ideal.
How to observe Devshayani Ekadashi Vrat (Puja Vidhi)
- Start the day with an early bath and clean your prayer area.
- Place a Lord Vishnu’s idol or image, especially in the form of extended.
- Tulsi leaves, yellow flowers, sandalwood paste and panchamrit (milk, ghee, honey, curley and sugar mixture).
- Read Zikir Vishnu Sahasranam, Bhagavad Gita verses or listen to Ekadashi Vrat Katha.
- Observe fast, depending on your health and capacity, you can only choose a solid water fast or choose fruits.
- Break fast the next morning.
