Northern Ireland fuel protests LIVE as tractors swarm Belfast: ‘we’re being extorted’ | UK | News

Northern Ireland Health Minister Mike Nesbitt has warned that road disruptions caused by fuel protests could threaten the lives of people needing medical treatment.
Mr Nesbitt said: “I would be very concerned about road closures so I would ask you not to do this.
“Only engage in legitimate legal protest.
“Today, like every day, there will be over 100,000 interactions or engagements between HSC and the public.
“Thousands and thousands of them depend on the workforce getting from point A to point B, or patients or service users getting from point B to point A on time.
“Ultimately, the rationale is that disruption is life-threatening.
“My plea is that the health and social care system be allowed to work as it should.”
