Nostradamus 2026 prediction for one city to ‘overflow with blood’ | World | News

French seer Nostradamus continues to offer a wealth of information on predicting future events.
This year is no exception. The 16th-century prophet foresaw a chilling series of events unfolding before our eyes.
Nostradamus wrote all his predictions in cryptic quatrains, each of which is said to contain the fate of global events.
Many of them appeared in his landmark work ‘Prophecies’ of 1555, which contained at least 942 quatrains.
Seven months, the great war
The stanza in question reads: “A great war lasts seven months, men die of evil/ Rouen, King Evreux does not fail.”
It is easy to draw parallels between this verse and the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Times of India reported. Some claim that Nostradamus predicted wars when he said, “There will be unprecedented troubles in the two cities.”
It is believed that this foretold the atomic bombs America would drop on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War II.
A large swarm of bees
“The great swarm of bees will appear from ambush at night,” reads this passage, one of Nostradamus’ more unusual predictions. Some suggest that this could happen next year because the passage corresponds to the number 26.
However, it remains unclear what the bees might represent, as it seems unlikely that a large swarm of bees would cause serious damage via “ambush”.
Celebrity who will be struck by lightning
According to verse 26 of the 1st Century BC, Nostradamus predicts that “the great man will be struck by lightning in the daytime.”
This prominent figure could be anyone from the royal family, a world leader, or a famous celebrity.
However, what is certain is that this individual will be struck by lightning during daylight hours. Could we be preparing for a lightning strike on the red carpet in 2026?
It is predicted that Switzerland will be bathed in blood
This prophecy is extremely disturbing and can be associated with a specific location in modern times.
Its chilling line reads: “For the kindness the city will show… Ticino will be overflowing with blood…” Switzerland’s scenic, Italian-speaking canton faces a dire prediction ahead.
The blood may represent a mass casualty event, a disease ravaging the area, or some type of natural disaster. Critics claim that Nostradamus wrote his works in Middle French, deliberately using obscure Latin phrases.
Moreover, numerous manuscripts, transcription errors, and different interpretations of his writings over the centuries make it difficult to determine what the prophet actually meant.
