Scott Mills quietly removed from Boyzone gig at Arsenal’s stadium after star was sacked by BBC

Arsenal have removed the name of BBC presenter Scott Mills, who will DJ at Boyzone concerts at the Emirates Stadium this summer, from their website.

In February the club announced that Mills, who was sent to the pack two weeks earlier following an investigation by the broadcaster into his personal conduct, would support the Ireland action over two nights.

However, following the 53-year-old’s sacking, which comes seven years after he was investigated by police for alleged sexual offenses with a boy under 16 and the case was subsequently closed, any trace of Mills’ name was deleted from the Gunners’ website and it is understood he will no longer be appearing at their North London home in June.

Boyzone will be performing their ‘Two For The Road’ show at the Emirates on June 5th and 6th. Mills was scheduled to play sets at both shows, while S Club and B*Witched were also expected to provide support each night.

In promotional material Mills was quoted as saying: ‘What a dream to support these lads this summer, it’s going to be 2 nights filled with big tunes, big songs and lots of 90s nostalgia. I hope you’re ready!’

The development comes after the BBC removed a plaque dedicated to Mills from the Radio 1 studio in London. On his last day at Radio 1 in 2022, studio 82A was renamed 82 Mills and honored with a silver souvenir.

According to The Sun, the plaque was quietly removed over the Bank Holiday weekend. Mills worked at Radio 1 from 1998 to 2022 before moving to Radio 2 and its flagship Breakfast Show.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail Sport understands Mills was also scheduled to perform at Leicester Racecourse later this month but was replaced “due to unforeseen circumstances” on February 16 – well before his sacking.

She will be replaced by Denise Van Outen at the racetrack on April 25.

In recent years Mills has played DJ sets at various Arena Racing Company-owned racecourses in Britain immediately after the race, including Uttoxeter, Southwell and Great Yarmouth.
