Oklahoma fireworks stand blaze involved ‘fireworks actively detonating’

The Broken Arrow Fire Department in Oklahoma says firefighters extinguished a fire at a fireworks stand Saturday night.
The department noted in a Facebook post that “fireworks were actively going off” upon their arrival.
“On Saturday evening at approximately 8:50 p.m., BAFD was called to a fire near E. Kenosha St. & S. 236th E. Ave,” the department said.

“Upon arrival, BAFD Engine 4 observed a fireworks stand on fire with fireworks actively exploding,” the post continued.

“Once other crews arrived, A-Shift firefighters quickly took control of the scene and were able to extinguish the fire in approximately 20 minutes,” the department said, adding that “no injuries were reported.”

The fire occurred two weeks before July 4, when many Americans will celebrate Independence Day by setting off fireworks or watching fireworks displays.
