Olivia Smith: Arsenal sign Liverpool forward for world record £1m fee

Trevor Francis became the first male player of £ 1 million when he joined the Nottingham Forest 46 years ago.

Smith, who became professional only in 2023, joined Liverpool a year ago for a club record fee just over £ 200,000 a year ago.

Arsenal Head Coach Renee Slebers said Smith is a “exciting young player” who can make a “great contribution”.
