Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin announces depositing Rs 5000 aid each to 1.31 cr women entitlement beneficiaries

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday said that the state government has deposited Rs 5,000 crore to 1.31 crore women who have benefited from the government’s women’s rights programme.

He also announced that he would double the monthly grant to Rs 2,000 if the DMK party comes to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Noting that Rs 5,000 was deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries of the Kalaignar Women’s Rights scheme, he said, “You would have received Rs 5,000 this morning. I have decided to provide this amount in view of the attempt (by vested interests) to freeze the scheme citing the upcoming elections.”

Therefore, in order to counter the move to prevent women from receiving the monthly financial aid due to them, she has decided to provide three months’ amount from February and also provide Rs 2,000 to cover her expenses during the summer months, she said in a video message posted on social media platform ‘X’.

“Also, once DMK comes to power this year, the monthly benefit of Rs 1,000 will be increased to Rs 2,000,” Stalin said in his message. he said.


“I urge the brothers to use this amount judiciously for expenses on educational needs of your children, purchase of medicines or other essentials,” DMK chief Stalin said, exuding confidence that his party will come back to power.
