The fourth edition of the Purple Ride, a motorcycle rally aimed at promoting preventive healthcare for women, was held in Hyderabad on Sunday in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals, on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The rally brought together more than 1,000 motorcyclists who rode around the city to spread awareness about the importance of early health screening and preventive care for women.
Addressing the participants, Sangita Reddy, joint managing director of Apollo Hospitals, said that women often neglect their own health while prioritizing the health of their families. He noted that regular preventive screenings for diseases such as heart diseases, breast and cervical cancers, diabetes and anemia are important, and early diagnosis with routine checks can save lives.
