US justice department releases 30 lakh new pages of Epstein files | World News

The US Department of Justice on Friday released more than 30 lakh pages of documents related to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The latest release includes more than 2,000 videos and more than 180,000 images. This will happen six weeks after the December 19 deadline set by law signed by US President Donald Trump.
The official cited the delay in reviewing and accessing millions of materials and redacting anything that could identify victims.

Previously, the Department of Justice made public thousands of pages, including photos of high-profile people, emails and text messages, on December 20, 2025. Just because it appears in the documents does not imply any wrongdoing on their part, and most of those named have denied any involvement with Epstein.
Assistant US Attorney Todd Blanche announced at a press conference that the Jeffrey Epstein files will be newly released.
Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act (EFTA), the government was required to release all Epstein-related files in its possession, subject to certain exceptions.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said that the Department of Justice has a total of 6 million pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. However, not all of these are published in the current statement. According to the Ministry of Justice, approximately 3 million pages are blocked for various reasons, including the presence of child sexual abuse material and the need to protect the rights of victims. Another 200,000 pages are being withheld due to legal privileges.
President Donald Trump’s name appears thousands of times in the Epstein documents released so far; this includes instances where Epstein directly referred to her.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche rejected suggestions that the Justice Department may have shielded or shielded President Trump by limiting or changing references to his name in the files. He said Justice department did not protect Trump and denied claims that it doesn’t take child exploitation seriously, mentioning that 293 offenders were recently arrested.
Friday’s release includes numerous FBI interview recordings, known as 302s, of alleged Epstein victims; These include detailed witness statements given to authorities about their experiences with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell between 2013 and 2021.
Any material depicting victims, child sexual abuse, death or matters affecting ongoing investigations has been removed. The women’s faces, except for Epstein’s partner Ghislaine Maxwell, were blurred, while the men’s faces were only redacted when necessary to protect the women.
Among the files disclosed in December last year were photographs of important figures such as former US President Bill Clinton, pop star Michael Jackson, actor Chris Tucker and Britain’s Prince Andrew. Some photos showed Clinton swimming in the pool and socializing with girls. The footage was initially released in four batches, with the fifth batch released a few hours later.
