Owner of a two-wheeler with fuel leakage in railway parking area arrested

The owner of a two-wheeler parked at Wadackanchery railway station was arrested and the vehicle was seized after petrol leakage was detected during security inspection at the station’s parking area on Tuesday, railway officials said.

According to the railway press release, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the suspicious leak. Upon examination, it was observed that there was a gasoline leak from the vehicle. RPF personnel immediately turned off the fuel switch, stopping the leak and preventing a possible accident.

RPF filed a case under Section 154 against the vehicle owner. The statement stated that the two-wheeler was seized and its owner was arrested in accordance with the rules.

In order to improve safety and prevent recurrence of such incidents, a detailed fire safety inspection of parking areas at railway stations is being carried out jointly by the commercial and electrical departments of the railways.

Emphasizing that negligence can lead to serious dangers, railway officials have asked all vehicle owners using parking spaces on railway station premises to maintain their vehicles properly and strictly comply with safety norms.
