Pact with UK a gold standard, with zero compromise: Piyush Goyal

New DELHI: The Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement with the UK (CETA) is a step stone and “will serve as a gold standard for more such agreements with other advanced economies, and the Minister of Trade and Industry, Piyush Goyal, said on Saturday that the negotiations on the proposed trade agreement with the United States are rapidly progressing.

Goyal said that India protects all sensitive sectors, including milk, rice and sugar in Ceta. He said that the agreement with the UK will help to increase the exports of intensive products such as shoes, textiles and jewels and jewels.

Unlike the FTAs of the UPA regime led by the ASEAN countries and the Congress, the existing distribution ensures the protection of India’s interests. The agreements, now “we do not compete with each other with clarity, not complementary,” he said.
