Parents warned as seat belt extender recalled over risk of ‘serious injury or death’ to kids

Parents have been urged to stop using seatbelt extenders due to the risks of causing “serious injury or death” to children.
The M&C Nebulae Australian seat belt extender has been urgently recalled because it does not comply with mandatory standards for child restraint use in cars.
“The product is designed for adult passengers only and is not intended for use with infant or child restraint systems,” the Australian Product Safety warning states.

“There is a risk of serious injury or death to young children if the vehicle stops suddenly or has an accident.”
Consumers are asked to immediately stop using the product with their infant or child seat and contact M&C Nebulae for a refund.
The product was sold nationally by Mcneautosuppliers online via Kogan.com.au.
It was put on sale between March and October this year.
