Parliament Monsoon Session Day 6 LIVE: Lok Sabha adjourned till 12 p.m. amid Opposition sloganeering

INDIA bloc is set to raise allegations of extremism against NEET protesters in Parliament; Writes to Rahul Shah, sends TMC notice

INDIA bloc parties are set to press for an urgent debate in Parliament on the alleged use of excessive force against students protesting against the leak of NEET papers, with Rahul Gandhi demanding accountability from Home Minister Amit Shah and TMC’s Sagarika Ghose on Monday submitting a memorandum to suspend day-to-day business to address the issue of “serious national importance”.

While the Center is scheduled to introduce a bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday to strengthen the law against paper leakage and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) called off its agitation following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as education minister and other demands being accepted by the government, the Congress and other opposition parties are in no mood to give up.

They are expected to demand answers from the governments in both Houses regarding the allegations that pellet guns were used, men in civilian clothes were deployed during the July 20 protest, and many students were injured.
