Prince Andrew offered huge castle as unlikely ally steps in | Royal | News

The offer was reportedly made by Solicitor Samantha Kane, who brought Andrew Carbisdale Castle in Sutherland in 2022.
Samantha, who spends most of her time working on cases in London, now describes herself as Lady Carbisdale since purchasing the huge 19-bed castle.
Because the castle is beautiful and remote, Samantha was interested in wanting to present it as a place where Andrew and his family could go to escape the scandals they are currently facing.
He also showed interest in representing her on the legal front because he believed she had been “mistreated.”
According to The Daily Mail, Samantha said: “I am writing to the Prince to offer my castle for the private use of him and his family, including his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. I feel strongly that he has been unfairly pursued. He remains innocent of these allegations. I am also prepared to offer to represent him against these allegations and any moves to evict him from his current estate. I feel he has been treated very badly indeed.”
He continued: “I believe that the prince, like everyone else, should not be tried by public opinion without being given a proper hearing.”
If Andrew accepts the offer, he won’t be the only royal remaining in the castle. Because the castle, built in 1907 for the Duchess of Sutherland, was used as a shelter for Norwegian King Haakon VII and Crown Prince Olav during the Nazi occupation of their country during the Second World War.
The castle was recently offered for sale but has since been removed from sale.
